Current Research:
The advancement of biotechnology is stymied by the limitations of the measuring devices used. It is my interest to develop instrumentation that may be used to make novel measurements that may facilitate a better understanding of the biological and physiological sciences. Currently, my efforts are focused on developing a microfluidic AFM probe, via MEMS fabrication, which will allow for analysis of both tensile and shear mechanical properties of cells as well as receptor ligand interactions such as streptavidin and biotin.
